Alison Doody

Alison Doody (born 11 November 1966) is an Irish actress and model. Doody made her acting debut in a Bond movie, A View to a Kill in the year 1985. She starred in 1989 as Nazi-sympathizing archaeologist Elsa Schneider in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The other roles she played include Siobhan Donavan in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody started modelling after she was approached. The outcome proved to be a lucrative career. Doody strove to avoid glamorous and sexy roles, which was a principle she incorporated into her acting. When she was dragged into the sights of the casting director of the upcoming James Bond film she accepted the role of Jenny Flex in 1985's A View to a Kill. Doody was listed within John Willis Screen World's Vol. 3 as one of the 12 most promising actors of 1986. 38. Doody had just turned age 18 when she was given the role of Bond girl. She is still the youngest Bondgirl to date. A Prayer for the Dying (1997), starring Mickey Rourke, also featured a smaller role as IRA Siobhan. Doody had an unspoken role in the film as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias during his film of a dream, the 1987 adaptation from The Secret Garden. The storyteller's episode Sapsorrow was her debut leading role. It took place in 1988 opposite Dawn French, John Hurt as well as Jennifer Saunders. She acted alongside Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Elsa Schneider, an Austrian Nazi sympathizer and an archaeologist from the forensic field in the 1989 movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. In the film, she also appeared alongside Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody has acted alongside three actors that have played James Bond. In 1991 Doody was co-starring with Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the published fraud known as The Hitler Diaries. She subsequently relocated to Hollywood. She was chosen to succeed Cybill Shepherd as spokesperson for L'Oreal she went on to perform alongside Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II in the role of Flannery his girlfriend and agent. After nearly a decade from screen Doody came back to acting, and acted in a tiny role in 2003's British comedy movie The Actors with Michael Caine acting as herself in an awards ceremony scene. In 2004, she starred with Patrick Swayze as a television adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. She played a role as a character in Benjamin's Struggle, a 2005 booklet on the Holocaust. Doody recorded a part in the film of Danny Dyer, The Rapture. She was also to play the lead role on The Asphyx remake, but the project was cancelled. Pam Jefferson was her character in the E4 comedy Beaver Falls for two seasons. In 2014 she appeared in We Still Kill the Old Way. The Almeria Tierra de Film Award was awarded to her on the 21st of November in 2018. She also received an award at the Almeria Walk Of Fame.
