Alison Doody

Alison Doody (born 11 November 1966) is an Irish actress and model. Doody made her acting debut in a Bond movie, A View to a Kill in the year 1985. She starred in 1989 as Nazi-sympathizing archaeologist Elsa Schneider in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The other roles she played include Siobhan Donavan in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody started modelling after she was approached. The outcome proved to be a lucrative career. Doody strove to avoid glamorous and sexy roles, which was a principle she incorporated into her acting. When she was dragged into the sights of the casting director of the upcoming James Bond film she accepted the role of Jenny Flex in 1985's A View to a Kill. The storyteller's episode Sapsorrow was her debut leading role. It took place in 1988 opposite Dawn French, John Hurt as well as Jennifer Saunders. She acted alongside Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Elsa Schneider, an Austrian Nazi sympathizer and an archaeologist from the forensic field in the 1989 movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. After nearly a decade from screen Doody came back to acting, and acted in a tiny role in 2003's British comedy movie The Actors with Michael Caine acting as herself in an awards ceremony scene. In 2004, she starred with Patrick Swayze as a television adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. She played a role as a character in Benjamin's Struggle, a 2005 booklet on the Holocaust. Doody recorded a part in the film of Danny Dyer, The Rapture. She was also to play the lead role on The Asphyx remake, but the project was cancelled. Pam Jefferson was her character in the E4 comedy Beaver Falls for two seasons. In 2014 she appeared in We Still Kill the Old Way. The Almeria Tierra de Film Award was awarded to her on the 21st of November in 2018. She also received an award at the Almeria Walk Of Fame.
